    DEERS enrollment for newborns

    Advertisements
So I read the newborn is covered under tricare for 60 days.
How long do we have to enroll in DEERS?
And, is this something I can do, or does dh have to do it? as he is in Guam.

So 60 days for TRICARE PRIME. After the 60 days the baby goes to standard. If you want to keep the baby on Prime if you don't do it in 60 days you once you get them added to DEERS which can be done at any point really. You will have to re-add them to Prime....did that make sense?

I think so? I don't fully know that answer since I am prime. I know that after I got my daughter onto DEERS I had to call tricare and move her to standard sine we were in the middle of our PCS at one point and we were living at my parents house which was 3 hours away from our base we were still attached before moving to FL.

    google. lol
I tried to find out the answer and it said something about enrolling the baby in DEERS within 30 days.

    to clarify:
someone's answer was "I think 30 days," it didn't come from official tricare site or anything
