    Married but unaccompanied and he's overseas...HELP

    I am wondering how bah/oha works since I'm stateside and husband is in Germany. We got married a few days ago and he's now gone for training for a few do we apply for bah/oha? Can anyone help?

    Unfortunately, he needs to take care of this. I don't have time at the moment to look everything up, but if you look in the Joint Travel Regulation there is a section on Acquired Dependents that should tell you what you need.

    In this case, you can't do anything.

    He will need to put you into DEERS. AFter that, he'll need to enroll you into everything else, Tricare, Housing, ect.

    Yes, he needs to go down to finance. He can live in the barracks, so he won't get OHA if he does. BAH will be a reduced rate, but I'm not sure what that rate is. He will get COLA, but it is based on rank, not dependents. There is nothing you can do, he must do it all, and he should start with finance.
