    Refills when traveling

    Advertisements
I'm out of town right now and totally forgot to pack my inhaler. I really had a hacking fit earlier today and I'm wondering how can I find out about getting a refill or new inhaler from here. Would I call Express Scripts or Tricare or what?

Any info/thoughts you have is appreciated
    TIA!

When I was out of state and ran out of my blood pressure meds, I went into the local CVS and got it refilled. I had refills remaining though. What pharmacy did you get your last inhaler from?

The last refill was from the base pharm.

Ohhhh ok. I'm not near a base yet so that's why I use CVS. I'd call Express Scripts and ask them what you should do. I hope you feel better. I hate being without an inhaler.

As long as you have refills remaining on your RX, a local pharmacy should be able to contact the base pharmacy and transfer the RX. We have done this with dh's allergy meds several times.

I once left on vacation with the kids, and left the backpack with ALL the meds at home. It was a pain and the base was not happy, but with the base and local pharmacy talking I was able to get all the meds I needed.
