    Confused Dental questions !

    Advertisements
I'm all set up with Tricare Prime now. I'm still trying to figure out everything;but I haven't had to go to the doctor yet so I'll figure out as I go.

My question is about dental insurance. I see that they have a dental option but i'm completely lost as to how much it will be for me and what it covers. Can someone explain it in laymen terms? And what will happen when I move to another base in May? Also, do they cover dental bonding?

I know you have to send in an application and the 1st months payment.

I would just have your husband ask someone where he gets the paper. My husband sent me ours when he was in BCT.

You can go here to find out how much it would cost for various services and other information: https://employeedental.metlife.com/d...ic/EmpEntry.do

We pay $30.89/mo for dental for me and our kids, for just a spouse it might be cheaper, not sure. Routine exams and cleanings are free, anything else has a cost.

I think I pay about $12 for me. It's not the best coverage, but...

I don't think you have to worry about moving. It follows you everywhere, unlike TRICARE. (I could be wrong)
if i never see you again i will always carry you
    inside outside

on my fingertips and at brain edges

    and in centers
centers of what i am of what remains

Correct it 'follow's you, just have to find a new dentist. Tricare follows as well, just have to switch regions but coverage is the same.

Thanks for clearing it up. I wasn't sure, but I never heard of anyone having to switch regions with Dental.

So if they were to find something during the exam it would be out of pocket?

Yeah I might have to make the trip to base since my husband doesn't work on base right now and by the time he gets off they are closed.
