    Clothing Allowance??????

    Advertisements
Ok so my husband just passed his 1 year anniversary on October 3rd. I am trying to figure out when and what clothing allowance he will be getting. I dont understand the difference between the different types of allowances for clothing and what category he actually falls in. I have tried google and I cant seem to get a specific answer. Hes an E3 Army. If any body could tell me when and how much he will be getting and maybe a better explination of the differences i would greatly appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't a uniform allowance independent of rank? Pretty sure it's around $500 and it'll be lumped into one paycheck.

    Edit: I'm silly

He will likely get it on his 15th check, if not then he will not get it until 1 Nov.

The amount varies, and it can depend on rank, because as they rank up and the longer they are in, the more uniforms they may need. But it averages around $200-$300.

Because it's his first year he will get half of the basic allowance. It's around $150 or something. I'm on my phone or I would find the exact words for you.

DH's service anniversary is Oct 2nd and we never see his uniform allowance until Nov 1st. There might be maybe 2 times in his years we've seen it on his Oct 15th paycheck. As for the amount i have no idea. But the other ladies have seemed to help with that.

Did the chart that I pasted show up?

ETA: If not, here it is again--

Also, DH enlisted in the beginning of September and we got it in the first half of October.

I can't copy and paste the text on my phone, but it explains it in that link. Under three years gets the basic allowance, over three years is the standard, first year is half of the basic.

This is just an extra that we never count on. Last year, hubby put on E-7 and we had to purchase a LOT more then they gave us. Something like $700 and we got only $250.
