    TriCare while travelling?

    Advertisements
We fly out for emergency leave tomorrow, two days earlier than we expected. I was hoping to be able to get into my doctor but it's not going to happen now. I really don't want to have to go to the ER once I'm there because I have an outstanding bill with them from my last visit. Can I see my old PCM while I'm there? I'm on standard if that matters. I didn't think it works like that, but I figured it doesn't hurt to ask. I'm in too much pain not to do anything about it.

Shouldn't matter if you're on Standard.

Usually you have to have your doctor call and get permission to see you if you are "out of area". That's what I had to do because I was from Washington State area and I was in Alabama and became very ill. I called and they had the doctor's office call and they worked out all the details and I received a letter that showed the permission had been granted and the bill was paid.

Thank you, I will definitely be doing this in between flights tomorrow to hopefully be seen on Tuesday.

I don't know how that works with Standard, but it might be best to just call Tricare, explain the situation, and ask how to handle it. I'm sorry you are hurting and I hope you can get the care you need ASAP.

As long as you have standard there shouldn't be any problems.
