    Help Military ID question...

    Advertisements
DF is stationed in Camp Pendleton and I'm in Ohio right now.. we got married when he was home and we're planning a wedding right now for june... As for getting a military ID.. Do i have to wait to be at Camp Pendleton to get it? Or could I go to Wright Patterson (a airforce base right by me) and get one made??

You can get an ID anywhere, but your husband/sponsor has to be with you.

I have gotten mine without DH, i just needed the DD1172 form signed by him. I didn't need my POA, but it might be smart to get one or take it as that base might ask for it.

this is what I did. I brought my POA, marriage certificate, and about 4 different kinds of ID, just to cover my bases. The guy only asked for my marriage cert and drivers license though.

    Power of Attorney.

My son did get his renewed at Wright-Patt when my husband was deployed but I can't for the life of me remember what all we had to take. They have an appointment line, I would call and get an appointment to go in for it because they get really backed up and I've heard of people waiting a really long time when they walk in. When you make the appointment they should be able to tell you exactly what you need to get it without him present, they did for me.

Your dh needs to fill out a form DD 1172 for you to get an ID without him, too.

ETA: I just now saw it mentioned already.
