    Tricare Prime Question!

    Advertisements
Does anyone know if Massage Therapy is covered under Tricare prime? I get the WORST tension headaches and I was Googling massage places around my area and some of them say they could take insurance. I just don't want to call and ask them if they take Tricare and then its not covered or anything like that.

I'm pretty sure if your PCM "prescribes' them they are covered. but i don't think they pay for you to get them because you think it will help

Yeah not sure. I was referred to see my neurologist through my prime, and i'm sure if he said I needed massage therapy then they'd pay.

I wouldn't think so. They usually won't even cover a chiropractor unless they get an amazing referral from your PCM. Either way though, if they would cover it, you'd need a referral from your PCM.

And even then its jumping through a crap ton of hoops to even have it considered to be covered. My guess would be no OP, they generally don't cover extra's like that...

A lot of massage places also do monthly memberships now and you can get a message cheaper by signing up for the membership. DH and I do that and get a 60 minute massage every month. A lot of places might also offer a military discount, but most don't allow you to apply it if you're doing the membership because the price is alrday reduced quite a bit.

if you have a fitness center on base, they may have a massage therapist (I know every base we have been to has)
