    Smile Backdated BAH?

    Advertisements
My DH left for BMT on May 1 and our housing allowance kicked in today! I was so happy -- I thought it would take at least another paycheck. I'm just a little confused about the amount. I know that monthly BAH is divided equally between both monthly paychecks. Today (we have USAA so DH gets paid a day early) we received an entire month's worth. My question is, is this amount the backdated amount for May? Then will we receive June's on June 15 and then July 1 paychecks? Thanks for the help everyone.

If it's more than half of his BAH then it is most likely the backdated BAH applied to what he would normally get each paycheck. Next paycheck, he should only receive the normal amount which would be half.

Is he set up on mypay website? You can always check his LES there to see exactly what is being put into each paycheck.

Yeah as said before I would just check the Mypay to be sure (we all know the military loves to over pay sometimes), but it more than likely is usually back pay.

Thanks ladies! I don't know if he's set up on MyPay -- I'll ask next phone call (which may be soon since he's in med-hold til June 25). I did the math and the amount is exactly right for pay + BAH.

I don't believe they can set up MyPay accounts while they are in BMT.
