MSOS to the rescue! Hopefully..... (About Dental)

So this is really frustrating. No one seems to know anything about dental coverage on this base

It is impossible to get a dental appointment on base as a dependent. Pretty much only active duty can get them so we have to go off base.

I am due for a cleaning. I am going home (to Pensacola, FL) next week and would really like to go to my old dentist. If I do that will it be covered? It's not like I have the option to go on base here anyway.... no one seems to be able to give me an answer, they all basically say they don't know

Also, I just looked up my dentist in Pensacola on the United Concordia website and he is in there so I am assuming that means he is an "authorized" dentist.

Then I would think you are OK. Can you call UCC and double check? And are you going before May1?

I will be going before May 1. At this point I am just ready to do it and hope for the best because it seriously seems like no one knows what is going on.

    ETA: and thank you!

Thank you guys! I don't get why the million other people I have talked to couldn't have just said that I feel like it's such a basic question!

I don't think it should be a problem. I used my dental in NC when I was home while DH was deployed and then again in KS when he got back without telling them anything and it didn't effect anything. I don't think it's all picky about regions like tricare as long as you use it with an authorized provider.
