    Confused BAH

    Advertisements
DF is in the national guard, and she was told that she won't get any housing assistance because she's reserves, but when she enlisted her recruiter told her she'd be getting approximately $400 housing assistance. does anyone know anything about national guard benefits?

BAH is payable to active-duty members

so wait, i'm confused, does she get 150-200 a month as national guard, or does she only get it if she's active duty? (does active duty mean full time?)
Sorry, i'm new to the military thing, and i'm so confused lol.

Active duty is full time national guard work only like two days a month so they get way less. Like 150 total a month

National Guard/Reserves do not get BAH in the traditional sense unless they are mobilized. They get pay for their drill time/days, but thats it.

According to the website I looked at, reservists are not eligible for any BAH unless called to active duty.

For National Guard you get paid for the days you are on duty

Active Duty Pay - During training or any time you're deployed
Drill Pay - Two days, one weekend per month
Annual Training Pay - Two weeks every year
Activation--if you are deployed or activated for State aid

Correction You do receive BAH in the Guard but only for the days worked on activation.
