    Mastectomy reconstruction and tricare?

    Advertisements
    Hey ladies.

I have had double reconstruction, and was wondering:

If something were to go wrong with either of my implants, would Tricare cover their replacement/correction? After going through all the expanders and everything, I sure I hope I never need further surgery, but I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer. According to Tricare's website, mastectomy reconstruction is covered, but I didn't see anything about failed reconstructions (and according to my doctor, they often don't last more than 15 years without needing to be redone). Is it a one time deal and you hope for the best?

    Thanks.

because it would be considered medically necessary they will cover it.
