this is not true-
the GI bill can only be transferred if the member has served 6 yrs and commits to 4 more-
if he is a reservist they have different rules
the amount transferrable is 36 months MAX- no matter how much time he has in-
the max payable per yr is 14 or 17,000 -
if he paid into the montgomery GI bill he needs to transfer to the Post 9/11 bill before he can transfer it to you.
if he is AD you will not get the housing allowance= and will get an additional 1,000 a yr for books.

Double check into the monthly stipend. DD is using DH's GI Bill and she receives a check each month and he's AD.
It is a pretty simple procedure. You DH logs onto a website and checks for qualification. If he qualifysmthen he designates how many months he wants to sign over to you. Once thismismdone and approved then the VA will send you a certificate. You turn this certificate into the cahsier's office/person handling VA benefits at the college you selected.
