    Confused Tricare and kidney stones

    Advertisements
DB is staying with me in Cleveland currently and we just got back from spending 8 hours in the emergency room. He woke me up in the middle of the night because he thought he was dying, turns out it was just kidney stones!
We don't have a military hospital anywhere near here, so I just took him to the local emergency room. I was wondering if tricare is going to cover everything??
He is pretty worried about it and is asking how it will work. Can anyone direct me to where I could find information on that?? I feel bad for the guy because he's pretty worried about being stuck with an ER bill.
    No more countdown! He's home!!

I am pretty sure they will cover it.

    Is he on leave?

ETA: I found this on the tricare site, it is kinda confusing but I am prettty sure it says that tricare will cover an er visit as long as it is with in reason lol

Thank you so much! I'm going to have him call tricare when he wakes up to let them at least know because I read somewhere that you have to give them like 24 hour notice, but thank you so much for helping!! He will be very relieved to hear that!!

YES I think calling in to them is a good thing.

I can understand how that would be a scary thing, I HATE hospital bills lol

It's covered. I went to an ER on leave once and never saw a bill. They took a copy of my ID and sent it all to TRICARE.

Eek.... hope he's feeling better. Kidney stones really DO feel like you're dying. I had them after having DS.... they hurt 10000000x worse than labor
