    Tricare after ETS?

    Advertisements
    Hey everyone,

I'm new here and have a quick question for anyone with any knowledge regarding the subject. I will ETS in October 2012 but planning on conceiving sometime in April 2012. How do I ensure health coverage as part of the pregnancy will be to the right of my ETS date?

I've heard of people getting 180 days but do you have to pay for it? Annnnnnd, we live 108 miles from post, will tricare cover appointments and the birth and all that jazz outside of military operations, like at a civilian hospitol?

Thanks so much for helping out!

I know DH and I got Tricare for 180 days after he went off active duty and back to national guard, we did not have to pay for that 180 days, it was under TAMP.

it will stop the day you ETS unless you qualify for the free 180 days- called TAMP

    Transitional Assistance Management Program (TAMP)

    or the Cobra type options

Continued Health Care Benefit Program (CHCBP)
