    MyCAA question...

    Advertisements
I happened to stumble upon some info about the MyCAA program when I was looking into going back to school. Question is, has anyone taken advantage of this, and if you did, how difficult was the process as far as signing up and all of that?

I am in the process of doing it. As far as getting registered, that was easy, just gave them my details and they check the information with DEERS to make sure you were eligible. I found the course I wanted not a problem, the hard part for me is trying to add the course to my education plan. I have no idea what I am doing

Are you going to be taking online classes or physically going to school?

You can only do mycaa approved courses. Thats the main thing, and you only get $2000 a year.
I'm using it right now to get some course work done to take an exam

That's what I'm looking into. What school, if you don't mind me asking?

That's not a problem. The University of Phoenix has a program that I'm interested in, and from what I see, that's an approved school. The process just looks so difficult as far as the learning plan and all that.

its really not and I wasn't sure how to do it and just called them up (from england none the less ) and had it figured out in a quick 5 minute phone call
Took about a week for my first plan to be approved and about a week and half for my FA for the school to be aprroved.
My school was super awesome and one email to them with my name and they had me all set up with my online access and I never had to fill out a form or lift a finger

It's not hard. I used it a few years ago before they stopped the program to make changes. I was going to university of maryland then, but left just because it was so expensive.

I started using it again last month for a certificate program. Once again, it was very easy to get my plan approved, and didn't take long at all.

How do you find out what classes/courses you can use it for? I want to go to the nearby college for ASL classes eventually.

I'm curious about this a lot cause I soooo want to go asap. But I can't get full GI bill coverage till jan 2012 and don't wanna waaaait ;3; wanna see about getting all the moolah help I could get.

Sorry for the question jack xD but I'm curious~ sorry sorry.
