Hi how does dental insurance work. I must have my wisdom teeth extracted ASAP they are so painful. But that type of surgery is expensive. Is there. Dental plan I should look into?

United Concordia is the military insurance. It's about $30 to start up and you need to get signed up before the 22nd or you have to wait an additional month. It works with tricare

Your United Concordia dental will cover part of it, you will have to pay the rest. The cost depends on how much "comfort" you want when you have them extracted. Go to your dentist and get referred to a ortho specialist. Get an estimate and then go from there.

I wish I had kept my dental through my work... I will now have to wait until October to restart it.

Yep. Our dental coverage sucks at best. You'll still pay a ton for wisdom teeth out of pocket unless you get permission to do it on base somehow.

    Yep.

Also, if you can afford it going threw a different dental provider is better they will likely cover more then what the Dental health care threw the military covers. At least when I had dental before my exams an work on my teeth was WAY cheaper then it'll be threw the dental I have now you do get your first office visit fully covered though for cleaning. I have heard people say they paid hundreds with the military dental to get work like teeth pulled done when I had two pulled all together including office visit I only paid $20 before so I have yet to test my dental insurance I need too but I can't afford to have to pay for over 50% out of pocket....
    Signature removed due to size.
