    Pay question, taxes, etc

    Advertisements
Can somone help me figure out DH's pay? I don't have access to his LES yet, because he hasn't set up a mypay account.

My questions- What is taxed each check? Isn't it just his base pay? Is family separation pay taxed?

Should I figure taxes at about 25% like mine are? I know it depends on dependents and what not. It is just us, no kids.

I am trying to figure it at half his base pay, half his BAH and half his FSP but it isn't coming out quite right, I don't think. If it is all taxed, it comes out just a little less than what it should be based on 25% withholdings. But I thought just base pay was taxed?

    TIA!

Typically anything with the word pay in it is taxed. (unless they are in a tax free zone) Allowances are not.

Not sure what SGLI is but he might have deductions for his meals as well.

ok, doing the math it seems right taking into account the SGLI, and meals. Forgot about those. Dental hasn't started yet because I didnt realize I had to send in the paperwork, just did that yesterday. I didn't want to set up his account or him in case they had them do it and he couldn't get in because I hadn't gotten the info to him yet, kwim? I will make sure it gets set up while I am out there for graduation.

Thanks ladies, he asked me to make sure everything was being paid right, and I was like, ummm how do I do that if I can't see your LES? I can't wait to communicate with more than letters that take ten days to arrive!
