    doctor visit?

How long after you get signed up for tricare can you schedule an appointment?

I have medical through my current job so when Dh and I got married we agreed not to switch me to tricare until I was living down there and lost my benefits through my current employer. I wouldn't be going to sign up until June 6th when I'm down there.

The only problem is now that I have this problem with my thyroid I'm on medication and the doctor up here wants me to go after four weeks on the medication to get another check up and bloodwork to see if I need to see a specialist and/or change around my medication. Four weeks is June 3rd, but the doctor said I can wait an extra week or two before going to the doctor. Basically, I need an appointment for June 17th at the VERY latest. Is that possible to be done or will it take even longer? Is there any way I can have him sign me up without me being there?

As long as you're in deers your automatically on tricare standard. You can either see a civilian dr and use standard or try to get in space a on base. It takes almost a month tn't geo go on prime so that definitely wouldn't get you in to the doctor on time. If you need an appt that soon you should call now regardless since summers tend to be busier with kids out of school.

Thanks. I'm signed up for DEERS and have been since Feb, but Dh told me he never signed me up for Tricare since I already had insurance. I'll have to call him and get the numbers to call a doc.

If you're in DEERS then you have Tricare Standard. Most people seem to prefer Prime, so if you want to switch then you will have to go to the Tricare office on post and get switched. They will assign you a doctor when you go in.
