    Recall Info

    Advertisements
Are girlfriends not allowed to be on recall info? I was talking to another military wife today and she told me that this wasn't possible because it wasn't "legal family." My DB is deployed currently but was going to go get me on it tomorrow if possible..

    Recall for what?

If you are talking about who gets called for if something happens it generally is next of kin whomever he has listed for that.

But some places will allow a girlfriend to be put down for info

If you are referring to his emergency contact he can put whoever he wants, if no one is listed they normally do next of kin.

If you are talking about the person who is contacted for info like homecoming, etc. it is up to him to fill out who he wants on there & it does not have to be family.

depends on the command. I know our last one in VA, they wouldn't put girlfriends on there but the new CO that came in relaxed it..

Recall is primarily for the next of kin or someone designated in a will or power of attorney. No offense, many relationships come and go and it doesn't make sense to risk proper notification in the case of a CACO event.

DF had me listed when I was a GF. I would have your DB ask, it can't hurt.

DH's unit would not allow me to be listed anywhere for any kind of contact or information before we were married.

This is a good time to get friendly with the future in-laws!!

What he can do as long as he is with a unit with this policy is simply to ask the person who IS listed for him to please contact you if/when they are contacted
