    Help Tricare

    Advertisements
So I'm new to this whole thing and I got my tricare card today. Since I'm not near a military base they provided me with a doctor to go to. My question is do you have to pay anything when you go and when you get prescriptions and such?

You may have a copay but it shouldn't be much like maybe a few bucks.

depends on the Tricare you have

    Do you have ....

    Tricare Standard
    Tricare Prime
    Tricare Prime Remote
    Tricare Standard Remote

and if you can't go to an MTF than yes you will have to pay for prescripts. but they aren't much.. even if you have to get them from Walgreens/cvs/walmart/publix/etc.
    3.00 for generic
    9.00 for name
some may be more than this.. but this is the general rule of thumb for prices

Tricare Prime... and Tricare Prime Remote you don't pay.

We have had both. We were switched to Tricare Prime Remote because we were over 30 miles from the nearest MTF. So we were given to a PCM out in town.

Only thing you'll pay for are prescriptions, since you're not near an MTF to fill them. Other than that, you won't pay a penny.
