    PRK Surgery

Does PRK really make the military member DNIF and therefore non-deployable for 16 months? Anyone know what the actual process is and what recovery is like?

PRK is what I meant! I'm slightly sleep deprived and making stupid typos a lot lately!

You Do go DNIF but not 100% positive for how long.. Judi may be correct.

I overheard someone talking at flight med this week about that. I know that he had his PRK done end of last year and was working on deployment paperwork... so the 90days may be correct.

Is it written in writing anywhere? He says he was told by the eye doc 16 months, but we also heard 6 months previously. We're just trying to figure out when he's going to apply to have it done but we cant get any straight info!

90 days sounds a LOT more accurate logistically than 16 months! I can't even imagine them making him DNIF for 16 months!
