    Birth Control

    Advertisements
I will be getting married June12th and I'm currently getting the Depo shot every 3 months.
After we get married I would still like to continue the shot or still take some kind of b/c.
So I guess my questions are
    1. Does the military (Marine Corps) pay for the spouse to get birth control?
    2. Would I be able to stay on the same shot?
    3. After we get married, how do I go about getting this set up?

    Thanks!!!

How is the depo shot? I was thinking of it. My doctor keeps ramming the idea of bc down my throat even though she does have good intentions.

I Love it! I've been on it for a couple of years now and just love the fact that I don't have to stress whether or not Ive taken a pill for the day. I get the shot every 3 months and don't have to worry about it again for another 3

Depends on your doctor. Some doctors will and some won't. I believe it deteriorates a lining or something like that.

The longer you are on the shot, the longer it can take to get preggo once you come off to ttc.

But to answer your questions, as PP said, once you are in DEERS, you will go to Tricare to register you so it will be covered

Yes they cover it completely! My friend (military so) picked up her RX while I was with her and I couldn't believe it was free AND she could get 3 months at a time. With mine I have to go get it every month. It's annoying.

I was on the depo shot for 2 years I liked the convience but was told when I turned 20 that I would need a bone density scan, lame and stressful. If someone had told me that when I was making the choice between depo and the pill I would have chosen the pill.

    It depletes your bone density.

I love depo, that and the Nuvaring. They're the best BC I've been on, and are both super effective.
