Airforce Military ID Help... What papers?

    Advertisements
I'm not sure what I have to bring to get my ID... is there a list some where? I don't want to make an appointment and not have what I need.

Also, how do I go about getting our insurance?

This military stuff is so complicated

certified copy of marriage certificate, birth certificate, social securtiy card, and if dh is not going, power of attorny
For insurance, go to the tricare office, (it is usually in the hospital i think) tricare stuff was the easiest for me to get done, foor real.

I took the marriage certificate, and 2 forms of ID - my passport and driving licence.

And then went by the Tricare office at the base hospital.

OKay, your DH is in basic training. This works a little differently.

At some point, you should get a letter telling you to enroll in DEERS. It will have a list of everything you need to enroll, and you must also take the letter with you. I think I received mine about halfway through basic training. Once you have your ID, you should be automatically enrolled with Tricare. Actually, my DH enrolled me while he was still at basic, but I am not sure if that is normal. You will be put on standard. I believe you have to call if you want to be on Prime. There will be at least a letter, if not an info packet, on all of that.

Oh boo, another letter I have to wait on...

I was trying to get my ID to get a discount on flights... maybe it'd be cheaper to just get one now 'cause I have no idea when I'll get the paper work to get it. >_<
