Pay Question - Military Benefits

There was some money deposited into Dh's account yesterday and I wasn't expecting any pay till the 1st of November because he just left for BMT Oct 1st. It was a relatively small amount. Is this part of his pay or something else?

Sorry for all the questions, I am totally new to this.

I'm guessing it's partial pay for the time he's been there. Usually it takes a month or so for pay to get straightened out and start coming in but it sounds like you guys got lucky!

when did he leave?

he gets paid on the 1st and 15th of each month

Lol thats what I thought but it really wasn't very much money, like under $400 so I wasn't sure
