I just got my application for my ID card and I was reading through the info and where my social security number should be there is a completely different number. Do they assign a different ID number or something because DH's social is correct?

Another thing, what do I do now that I've gotten this? I'm totally confused.

No, it's not even written the same way his is. His has the dashes where they should be. Mine is just a series of numbers with a 'D' after it.

it is quite possible they don't have your social in the system. I didn't have a SSN for the first 2 yrs we were married cause I'm not a citizen and didn't have my greencard, so they just put some numbers and junk. So long as his last 4 is correct, it should be fine

So if his number is correct it doesn't really matter what mine is? Sorry, I'm just trying to make sure I get it right.

I don't understand why they would have a different number. Dh has a notarized copy of my social security card with him and he knows my social, so I'm just confused.

That happened to mine and it was because they didnt have my social in the system. It was a temp SS # til they have your real one in. If youre able to go back and fix it I would.

Where do I do that? In the envelope all there was was the application and a brochure about tricare

Lol, really I am embarrassed by all the questions I have. I just don't have anyone IRL to ask. Thanks for helping me out!

It is a temporary ssn since htey didn't have yours. I like Sandy had a temp # because I was still awaiting permanent residency.
