Not getting paid?..

So, I've been waiting all morning for DH's pay to go through so I can pay bills, go grocery shopping, etc. Finally called the bank as they usually put it through by 9 at the very latest. They said that there was nothing waiting to go through.

So my question is, who do I call to get this? I can't ask DH as he is in the field this week and won't talk to him until late tomorrow. He is National Guard, if that helps or matters. Any help (or bumps of you don't know) is greatly appreciated!!

Is there a finance office you can contact?

Check his LES and see if the correct bank account is listed. I've seen a few people that had this problem and the account listed on their LES was not correct and usually off by a digit or two.

I have no idea how to get ahold of a finance office if there is one to be totally honest. And I can't seem to find the number of the local armory.

As for LES? I have no idea what that is or how to check it. Because I'm a total airhead I don't even know if I've ever been told. However! He has been getting paid since March and the bank account is still the same. It has always been direct deposit. Unless DH did something without telling me (possible but highly doubtful) everything should be the exact same as it has been.

Can you log on to his mypay.gov account?

Honestly, I don't know if there will be anything you can do until he returns from the field

Do you have a first shirt or the equivalent you can call?

Can I ask who you bank with?

Oh wow... I suddenly feel ill informed about everything!

He's never told me his info for his mypay account. I've never asked. I can tell you it will be a bugger if I can't get things figured out. I bank with a local "credit union".

And please excuse the probably silly question, but what is a first shirt? I used to have the number of his recruiter who would direct me to whom I should call in certain situations, but said recruiter changed numbers and left the area as far as I can tell. Also, I have a number on his drill schedule for a SSG... I don't know if that will help any. But that's about all I have.

I don't know how it works because my DH is Air Force instead of NG. Here's what I would do...

1. Can you get by without the money for another week? You can talk to him tomorrow night and he could potentially get something done the next day. Are you ok money-wise until then? If you don't have food, then obviously something HAS to be done sooner.

2. https://mypay.dfas.mil/mypay.aspx <---------- KNOW THIS SITE. This is the MyPay website which is how you can access the LES to see what you will be paid and various other things. He might not have mentioned it before but you might know him well enough to get into it and take a look. You will need to know his social security number - I believe everyone has their log-in ID set to their SS#, but i could be wrong. There is then a passcode that you use the keyboard on the screen to type in. If you know those two things or can guess them - you can get in to see his LES. If you don't, please ask for them when he calls.

3. Call the base operator and ask for Family Support. At our base Family Support and the part of Finance that would be able to help you are located in the same place. If nothing else Family Support should be able to help you get a check today for some money to get you by until everything else goes through. They could probably also get you a copy of the LES to figure out what is wrong with the pay.

4. Do you have a general POA at all? You might need that if they need to do something at finance like issue an emergency aid loan/check.

I appreciate this! I have some food, but not sure if it will last until Monday, when any money would be going through. However, if I have to make do, I will. It's not really food I'm worried about though, it's my car payment. There was a time where we were 2 months behind on it and when we caught up they informed us that if we fall behind again they can take the car at any time without warning. I can call the bank though and explain the situation if need be.

I know his SSN and his new favorite PW to use in places, however, when I enter any of his usual passwords it tells me they must be 4-8 alpha-numeric characters. (I didn't realize anything in that keyboard wasn't alpha-numeric. )

Let's see... I tried calling his unit, was told that DH would have to handle it and was given a number that has a full inbox. I can keep trying to get something figured out.

And! Yes, I have POA.

If nothing else I'll have him check his mypay and see what's up. But boy-o will he be... Irritated to say the least that his pay isn't going through.

I hope you get it figured out. we are awaiting my DH's final NG check. it's been over 3 weeks since his last "mission".
