Tricare dental question - Military Benefits

Do you have to call them to tell them what dentist you choose to go with? This is the 1st time ive gone to the dentist since I was a kid and I have no clue what im doing. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it and I would appriciate it like no other!!!!

I thought tricare didn't cover dental for dependents.

The AF uses United Concordia...I am not sure if all the branches use the same. If so, you just need to find a dentist that is a provider with them.

Are you already enrolled in the TDP through United Concordia? If so, you just chose a dentist off their website and call the dentist to make an appointment. I would verify when you make the appt that they do accept United Concordia. But you don't have to call and let them know which dentist you chose.

I just used the website to pick my dentist. I don't think I had to tell them who the provider was.

Well im a dependant for with the Navy and I have United Concordia through tri care...

I have a card and all...

Its Concordia/Tricare... but no, you don't have to call them first. Just make sure you go to one within the network. You can find who is in your network on the Tricare website.

Oh okay thanks! Do you guys know of a way I can get the reviews about the dentist.. Ive been going to the dentist website and stuff but they dont have an option for reviews!

Ya...I just looked in the phone book and a lot had ads saying the accepted United Concordia. Just make sure they are providers and you will be good to go!

I just went on their website and picked a dentist and called that dentist and made an appointment.

The very first appointment is free. After that, whatever you have done you pay for a percentage.
