I was just wondering, once DF and I get married, how does he go about transfering his g.i bill to me? I know its takes a bit to kick in,but I want to get the ball rolling as soon as we are able. TIA

We were trying to go this also. First off he has to be in for 6 years with a commitment for 4 more years. There is a website, not sure what it is, but he'd probably have to call VA.

Ok you should be good to go then. I'm pretty sure it's Veteran Affiars that he needs to call. Then after he transfer it the website where you need to go to apply is http://vabenefits.vba.va.gov/vonapp/main.asp.

he needs to first transfer from the old bill to the new- this he can do now and get it out of the way since the turn around is 4-6 weeks.
then he needs to transfer benefits to you- this will take another 4-6 weeks. you can go to the GI BILL website for payment and other rules regarding transfer.
