BAH and PSD question - Military Benefits

We just moved here In Aug. We have been here in housing since Aug 14th. My husband checked into his command on sept 10th. Well he went into PSD today to check in with them and they told him he cannot get BAH for here until he is accepted by them. How long does this take to take effect. Housing started taking the BAH for here from us as of yesterdays paycheck, but we are still receiving BAH for texas which is alot less then what housing is taking from us. I was really hoping we would have BAH changed for here by the 1st of Oct.

your verbage confuses me- what do you mean by "accepted by them".. BAH will change beginning the day he checks in- but you may not see it for 2-4 weeks.
you need to call housing to see if they are going to accept the old BAH rate in full or if they are going to want you to pay the difference.

What she means by accepts is when the command actually gains the member. The housing there will take that duty stations BAH and not the prior. We run into this a lot over here. Ensure your DH checks in with the admin/personnel office asap or you will owe housing money if the BAH is more.

It will be effective once he checked into his command. We just went through this, we moved in to our new place August 1st, but DH didn't check in until Sept 4. He finally got all his PSD stuff taken care of with BAH, on the 14th. We should see it in our next check (31st) and we will be getting a prorated amount for September.
