I know tricare does not cover the surgery for dependents.

My husband is having it done, the command he's stationed at is top priority for it!!! He also mentioned I could possibably have it done and he's checking into it for me. It would deff have to be at the Naval Hospital though!

I went for a consultation with LasikPlus last week and I was rejected due to having a very strange prescription. They quoted me as between $4000-5000 for having both eyes done. They offer free consultations and have locations all over the country.

I had PRK done at LasikPlus. I paid $2800 for both eyes. Plus I got 0% financing for 18 months.

DF got Epi Lasik done (the one approved for military) It was incredibly painful.

He couldn't get it done for free so I think he got a military discount for 1200 per eye on a place off post... I think

I had a consultation visit about a year ago. They said because my eyes are so bad that even if they did it I would probably still have to wear glasses or contacts so I said screw it.

I guess it depends on what they can do for you and how much you hate glasses/contacts to where it is worth it or not. It is pretty expensive.
