    filling prescriptions

How do you fill prescriptions? Are you allowed to fill them through the military pharmacy or approved pharmacies if you have OHI through another job? I'm so confused by all the healthcare mumbo jumbo...

You can fill civilian prescriptions on-base, there is no fee. You can also take your prescriptions to a civilian pharmacy but you will have to pay a co-pay.
    Needs work.

I've taken my perscriptions out in town when the wait at the hospital is really long or out of my way. It was like 2 bucks and well worth it to me!

I usually fill them online through the Army hospitals website. The website would be for your specific medical center on post.

I know some people go to Walmart and have their rx's filled there.

Why don't you call Tricare? I'm sure they would have a better answer.

You might be able to, but it depends on how they do things in your area. Here in the Norfolk, Va area, where we're super-heavy with Navy stuff, there are only two pharmacies (out of something like 11 base clinics) that will fill civilian-written scrips.

The few times we've gotten civilian scrips, we've gone to the local drugstore and paid $3 for each scrip. It's still a bargain.
