    Help I don't get it.

DH says he needs me to go to a base before he can do anything. But I don't know what I am supposed to do. I thought that the military member had to register his dependents.

And I am under the impression that I can go to the Naval base, even though Josh is Army. That's right, isn't it?

MIL wants me to call and make an appointment but I don't understand for what. And DH isn't online.

ETA: DH is deployed and we just got married 2 weeks ago... in case you missed that.

If your MIL has a POA she should be able to register you as his dependant in DEERS. I would call the DEERS office at the Naval base, explain the situation and ask what they can do.

the Mom will not be able to sign for the paperwork for the spouse- they will not allow it-

the OP will need a seperate POA to act on her DH's behalf.

you will also need to get forms filled out - make sure you are enrolled in deers and that he has updated his page 2- all before you can go to any branches pass and ID office to get your ID and talk to tricare.
