    Confused Tricare Eye coverage?

    ok so i want to make an appt.to have my eyes checked.I have never had them done and wanted to know where i can go.


    I know that tricare doesnt cover if you need to get glasses you need to pay outta pocket...but what about the eye exam is that covered?..im prime by the way...

    Normal eye exams are covered. Just call around and see who accepts tricare

    i went to the MTF.

    Got in, in 2 weeks.

    They dont pay for glasses or contacts

    You can look on the web site and get a phone number and address for someone who accepts it around you... make sure you ask if they give military discount. Mine did. Also, some make you pay up front (like wal mart) and then you send in the thing to Tri Care. Some going straight though insurance. Thats the route I'd go.

    They cover eye exams. They supposedly don't cover contact fitting exams but some will do it for you anyway

    ETA: I've always just scheduled an appointment through the appointment line for my MTF to get an eye exam.

    Since tricare does not pay for glasses/contacts---

    You should check out the website zennioptical.com They sell very VERY cute glasses from 8 dollars up to about 30. Many of my fashion forward glasseswearing friends buy multiple cute pairs from this site.
