Confused Military ID and DEERS QUESTION....Please respond! :)

    Advertisements
Ok so DH and I were married almost 3 weeks ago. I have NOT had the time to change my last name to his being that I'm working 5 days a week during the same time that the Social Security offices are open. I NEED to know if I can get in DEERS and obtain a military ID with my current MAIDEN name. Otherwise, I'm going to have to call out on Friday and get this name switch done.

    Thank you.
If you cannot get past my size and my exterior, there is no way I'm letting you know how great I am on the inside as bestsellers are not judged by their covers"

Whatever your name change is, it should be. I think you will need to go to your legal name.

As long as you have the license you shouldnt have a problem getting your ID in your maiden name, unless you signed the license with your married name

I have my maiden name. It'll be fine as long as you have your marraige license.

Do you want the ID to have your maiden name or married name?

I hadn't done my name change stuff yet when I got my ID and it was fine to get it printed with my married name. Just had to have the form he signs and my marriage license. I STILL haven't changed my drivers license cuz I haven't been back to Arizona to do it!

you need a marriage license and you SSN card.

mine was my maiden name for over a yr because i never got it changed on my SSN card even tho my DL had my new name. just to give you a heads up. they will go by the SSN card no matter.

I was able to get my ID and everything taken care of with my married name even though I didn't get my new SS card with the name change from the mail yet. As long as I provided the marriage license it was fine. They asked if I was going to change my name, I said yes, and they put everything under my married name.
