    Tri Care Standard?

    Advertisements
Hi, I went to the doc the other day and they said that they needed to see a Tri Care ID. We have Tri-Care Standard, and I just called the office for Tri Care for my region, and the guy said they don't give ID cards for standard you just show your military ID. I called the Dr again and they are insisting on an ID. What shoudl I do?!? Agh!

Hand them your military id and tell them your sponsor social is your insurance #. That's what I always did.

Also, if you talk to billing they should be able to help you out with this situation.

    At the doctors office itself.

I had a similar problem, they kept insisting that because I had tricare I needed a referral. I have standard though, so I dont. I finally got it straightened out when I explained the situation to the person in billing. They will understand how the insurance works more than the front desk lady/nurses will.

The person your talking to obviously doesn't understand or isn't aware of how tricare works. Talk to her supervisor, they may be able to help and show the person how to do their job.
