    You know it's bad

You knows it's bad when you are going over the dental work you need done and your dentist tells you that your insurance (military) is crap. He said, "it's great coverage for kids, but for adults I really dont see the point." so hopefully the ones that need the most work will last till we get to VA so I can get a referral to the naval hosp to get the work done.

Eh....the only "major" work I've hard are fillings. I'm pretty satisfied with the coverage we receive.

Yeah, I need to have a crown...not a root canal, JUST the crown...with the dental, it will be about $400 out of pocket. That's ridiculous!

Yet another reason I'm dreading not being able to go to Dr. Dambrose and his staff anymore. I had gotten quotes for my "care plan" before I left TX, and the basic stuff was gonna run me over $1,000.. I paid a little under $200 here, and everything looks great.. Our dental is better than having none, but not by much.

Well, I'm what I am and I'm what I'm not
and I'm sure happy with what Iíve got
I live to love and laugh alot
    and thatís all I need

I'm looking at a gorgeous $2,000 of out-of-pocket expenses...that's about 50% of the overall cost ... some things the dental program covers VERY well - which is good. But other things (liek the MOST expensive stuff) it doesn't seem to cover well enough.

I was "blessed" with my dad's crappy enamel. No matter how good I do with flossing, brushing, etc, I ALWAYS have at least one cavity. Right now I need 2 fillings (which I can afford) and 2 root canals and 2 crowns. Each root canal and crown will be $1200 a piece. Because I need the white fillings (where the cavaties are) tricare wont cover a cent of them. $140 a piece that I have to pay full price for.
