    SRB payment question

    Advertisements
When DH reupped he was in Iraq so his initial SRB payment was tax free (yay!). Now he is on shore duty for another 2 years or so. Are the subsequent yearly payments tax free also? I have a feeling they are taxed but I can hope right?
    Thanks.

Pay is tax free for every month in which at least one day was spent in a combat zone, and in some combat zone support areas. Im am not sure where SRB payments fit in though, sorry.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Q. Is my SRB tax-exempt?

    A. Only if you reenlisted in a tax-free zone. Check with your Career Counselor to see if you had qualified.

We are in Groton CT now. We moved from Hampton Roads back in March. I know many people don't like it there, but I didn't want to move...

    TAX FREE SRB

Since he reenlisted in a tax free zone then his installments are also tax free Come October when he receives his next installment if it is not tax free then he should talk to his personnel department to get it corrected.
