    hey ladies. my db is in the navy and we have a daughter together who has been enrolled in deers. but i am so confused on how it all works. like he doesnt really even know. i have an ID card for her but is that the insurance card or what is it for. and how do i get ahold of tricare to see if something is covered. i need some serious help! lol. she will have a doc. appt. in august so i need to figure this out soon. so any info about it will help and will be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!

    You need to go to the Tricare office on base and set up her PCM. Her medical care, everything, is by use of her military ID. You can even access the Commissary and exchanges with her card.

    that will give you a region. You can then find the 800 number for that region ( either south, west or north) and find out what is covered.

    in reality HE needs to sign her up or give you POA to do so. Being near a base doesn't matter, we aren't near a base so we have to do everything via fax or mail. If you live more then 50 miles of a military treatment facility ( MTF aka base hospital) she will be on prime remote provided he enrolls her in Prime. Currently being on DEERS entitles her to standard which can be costly. He needs to go and enroll her in Tricare prime. hth

    i'll have to ask him about it when i talk to him tonight. cause right now she is on medicaid and i didnt want to get rid of that till i knew for sure she had insurance through him and that i knew for sure about the insurance and stuff. hopefully he will have some info for me. cause i am still so confused!
