I have never heard of a military deposit waiver, there is a military clause that you put in your lease that lets you break it early due to orders or housing..but not one that lets you waive the deposit.

I'd just call the place & ask them! Or, have someone else do it so they don't recognize your voice when you call back and ask for a tour of the complex!

I work at an apartment leasing office. Our deposits are normally $350 on approved credit, but active duty military we offer $150 on approved credit. Maybe it has something to do with discounts for military?

Oh! I know what you're talking about, it's called the set-aside program. Not everyone accepts it but if they do they'll waive your security deposit and sometimes reduce down the rent.
