    TSP

Does any of your hubbies pay into the TSP? DH and I were thinking about it. I have a 401k at my job and I feel like he should have something like that too. Do you guys have any Pros or Cons?

I'm not sure what happens when he retires, he knows all that crap, lol. But since we are career it's not something we've really worried about yet either

we have been investing in the TSP for 8 yrs.

what happens to it when you get out: you can roll it over to a traditional or a ROTH IRA with out penalty.

so even if you are not career minded and still want to start investing in your retirement future this is one way to do that.

cons: I can never think of any!!

Pros: you can roll it, you have 100% control over what money goes where and how much, it is pretax so it lowers your taxes.
you can start seeing results from day one!!!

please check out the website www.tsp.gov for more info..

TSP is a great resource, there are no cons that I can see to having more money for retirement. we have been putting money into for years. DH can manage it all online and he splits it up thru all the funds.

    I will miss you SOS...
Please be wary of what you post remember OPSEC is not just another acronym.

Thankyou ladies! When DH gets home I think we will get on TSP.gov and go over it together. I think it is a great idea. I have had my 401k for awhile. I think investing is such a great plan.
