Okay, so i'm not good with placing these question's if i get them in the right place or not..but oh well..My husband is being stationed in Va. and he told me yesterday that we could get an advancment on our BAH in like a loan. up to 3 months. but my question is.. if we get that.. up to 2 months. do we go with out bah for 2 months since we took and advancment for 2 months?

I think he means an advance on his base pay. BAH is for housing and I haven't heard of that being advanced before. When you PCS to a new duty station, you get some allowances but you can also take a base pay advance. Yes, it is a loan. Installments will be taken out of his checks after that until it is paid back, but interest is not charged on it. He will still get his regular base pay each month, so you will not end up with a month or 2 of not getting paid.

We have taken a 1-month advance every time we PCS'd just to make sure we had some extra money for things like security deposit on a rental.

    pay help

you can do either an advance of BAH or pay. You probably want to do pay it is much easier. Either way they have to be repayed. They are good no intrest loans. Also you will get DLA wich depends on your paygrade. anything more than a one month advance requires special reasons and has to be approved by the CO of his command. a one month doesnt. also remember you only get the amount you would take home. So say his base pay is 2000 but after taxes its really say 1800, the advance would only be 1800.

    No

If this is for PCS it is very wrong. You cannot use your government CC on PCS. People do but your not supposed to. They should give him advance travel. tell him to talk to his Pay office
