I take it she's seeing a civilian pediatrician. Don't get too stressed out....there are us seasoned gals who ARE familiar with Tricare...otherwise feel free to call the phone # on the back of the Tricare insurance card.

sometimes you get statements of benefit which aren't bills, those just say that this is how much the dr charged, this is what we paid, this is how much that is left over. But you don't have to pay it, because all the Dr.'s on the network take a flat fee for their services, so you shouldn't owe them any money. make sense?

    I will miss you SOS...

As long as you're enrolled in Tricare Prime, and you're going to the doctor that Tricare assigned you, then there shouldn't be any charge. I had a civilian doctor assigned to me in San Diego, and I never received anything other than statements of what Tricare paid to the doc.

If you have tricare prime and you saw a dr that tricare assigned you or you were referred too. All you have to do is call the clinic she was seen at and remind them you are on tricare prime. That is the clinic's fault.

Likewise, if you are NOT on Prime, you may have a copay.

Nope NOT on Prime. Called Tricare today to have them explain it to me in "Lamans" terms and she said we had NO copay!! I'm sooo confused....
