    first dr appt

    Advertisements
Tomorrow is my first dr appointment as a dependant. My question is should I take my medical record copies from the past 4 years in with me? With they copy and make me a new record? Or should I just tell him all the things I think he should know about?

I think you should take it in. They always have to have my records transfered when we move.

when you go in your medical clinic there is a place to take your records...I was told when I took mine in to make copies because it is sometimes hard to get them back.

I had my first appointment last week. They didn't ask for any records or anything. Just DHs SSN. They asked me a few history questions once I got in with the nurse but other than that, I don't think you need to tell them much unless you have an extensive medical history.

Yup, your suppose to take them with you. If you had them transferred, they will start a new file in the process. FYI. Make sure you get a PCP assigned first. I assume you have one, if you've scheduled a Doctor's appt already thought. no?

well I am not being transferred. my medical records are being kept with the VA because they are my military records and that is where they will stay. Its not a normal case of switching dr's. I do however have several things they need to know, so I will just ask them about it tomorrow.
