    Dependent ID's

    Advertisements
I know that children are normally not allowed to get ID's until they are 10, however since we are out of the military range ( so to speak) and are on Tricare Prime Remote, would our two youngest be able to get ID's? I only ask because I don't know if I am gonna get held up at the Doc's office for not having an ID for them or not. and plus since we aren't around the military 24/7 like at other places. any help would be helpful.

    I will miss you SOS...
Please be wary of what you post remember OPSEC is not just another acronym.

I'm not sure, but I know a friend of mine's girls have ID's because she took them to the ID lab and explained that they needed a photo ID for travel purposes. (they were flying without their parents)

Well, I'm what I am and I'm what I'm not
and I'm sure happy with what Iíve got
I live to love and laugh alot
    and thatís all I need

No, they won't give them to you. We are in the same situation. We have Tricare Prime Remote also. All you will need to show at the Dr's office, will be your ID. Hope this helps.

Yeah, all you will need is your ID... I moved back to Ohio while DH was deployed... it was like 3 weeks after my DD was born, and we asked if we would need to get her an ID because I wouldn't be around a military base, and they said that until their 10, all they need is either my ID or his. I've seen a one case where kids under 10 got ID's, but it was because their mom was a single mom in the Army at the time.

We were on Tricare Prime Remote for a total of six years and never need ID's. They just billed Tricare using my ID. HTH

you can get them before 10. explain your situation and they can issue them to you. My friend got one for her 7 and 9 year old because they travel often on planes and she didn't want them to not have one.
