every FRG is diffrent.
Here im the Treas. of ours. I love doing it. I was the homecoming chair last deployment (up until the last month when i had to go home). It's great fun and an excuse to meet people. |

I am the secretary with our base enlisted spouses group, but have nothing to do with DH's unit. Each one is different and run differently depending on if they are a registered organization or not.

Our FRG is very laid back. We have the CO's husband who runs it, the civilian FRG representative who works out of our National Guard Armory, and a treasurer. Other than that its just a few spouses, girlfriends, and parents that get together like once a month or so. Last time we met at the VFW and had pizza and a few drinks and just sat around and chatted. Oh adn we also handed out the deployment t-shirts that we had printed. Its very lax here though, no big parties or anything, just kinda getting together for a bit and seeing how our guys/girls are doing.

Ours is losely organized. I'm the Treasurer and it's really not that hard. I would ask your DH for the FRG leaders # or email and reach out to her. Most FRG's are in need of volunteers so I'm sure they will appreciate your offer. It's good to get involved and meet other wives. You might not click with everyone, but it's at least worth a try.

I am a Co-Leader and the leader and i just bring up ideas and solutions to the command and we keep the families up to date on events and prepare them for anything coming up. We try to help the spouses if they have any questions or concern. Since we are such a small unit its pretty simple.
