Girl's State/ Boys State?

Did anyone do Girl State ever in their life?
just curious, I was a delegate and a JC for 2 year and a SC for like 3. How was your experience with it!

I went to Girls State.. I don't have much to say about it cause it was so long ago, but I did enjoy it. I was the fire marshal

I went to Girls State. Looking back on it, it was a really good experience. At the time I didn't want to be there.

what is girls state and boys state? never had any mention of this back where im from.

American Legion runs this for girls and boys going to their 12th grade year. It happens during the summer before the school year starts. Its sorta neat. They picks kids from different schools and they stay for a week at colleges in that state. Like I live in Mississippi and the Girls were at SOuthern Miss and the Boys at Delta state! well they basically divide you in to cities and then into counties, and you haved mock elections and you have a Govenor and Liet Gov, Stat tres and so on! it was fun when I was a delegate but they following years it was just not so much fun for my delegate. I did notice that other states looked more fun. And I think they were a little different too!

got ya... so yeah it wasn't a "Big" thing in Jax where im from. Hubby and I have noticed AL is more northern in the broad aspect not so much southern.

How old are you! I remember there were soooooooooooo many girls from jackson and else where in MS.. I have some friends I met in college from AL are you stationed on AL... what part do you live in!

lol Jax is what people from Jacksonville, FL call it. im 27 at least for a couple more months.

We are stationed in Gulfport, but live in Saucier, MS

but hubby is from Ohio, where we noticed there is an A.L. on what seemed like every block. I grew up with VFW's everywhere not A.L.

i went to Girls State in MO. It was fun. Didnt like it at first, but then I met people there were close to where I was from so I warmed up. Plus, some of the girls that were from further up North couldn't get over the way I talked. I remember one girl taking me from door to door having people listen to the way I talked.

So let me just tell you how big of an idiot I feel like! lol. Duh Brittney! I thought you meant Jackson Miss. oh Gulfport and Saucier! I know where that's at thats like 15 min from me or 20! Are you guys at Keesler? You ever go to the beau or Hard Rock!?
