AdoptaPlatoon Valentine's Day!

All of a sudden I really want to send some type of care package.. so I looked on this site --> AdoptaPlatoon & I signed up to send out Valentine's Treats! Just go to Campaigns on the left then cilck on the flying cupid & it tells you what to do from there!

You can't mail them later than Feb. 1st, so if you want to do it I would sign up soon!

I just put in my application in order to be a pen-pal with a soldier.
I want to adopt someone, Im just not sure if I will be able to afford to send a care package every month (since I have a tendency to go crazy when I make care packages!)
I just feel like sending mail to them is better than nothing. I doubt that my boyfriend would have any trouble with it...but lets hope not!

yeah i'm doing the valentine's day one & I adopted a soldier.. i'm not sure how my boyfriend will react either.. but i'm glad I'm doing it

i have been with AdoptaPlatoon since last Sept I think and enjoy doing it each month. I have never got a response back from him which is the downfall. I love going overboard too but just try to budget each month for it because it does get expensive....

and fyi for those who dont know how your SOs would feel. they do ask if your married or single and depending on that you are matched. Married-married and single-single

that sucks you never got any reply's back.. isn't that the point of it though? to write to each other?

& i know they have that single/married thing.. but i just dont want him to be jealous or anything lol

yea I thought so too but they forewarn you that because of schedules and location they might not reply and its normal. But oh well at least somone is recieving some good stuff

I have 2 pen pals from AdoptaPlatoon and I also have yet to get a response. My husband got a little bit jealous when I told him what I was doing. My husbands response was these guys are married why do you have to send them letters or care packages they have wife what the f*ck are the wives doing? I just had to laugh at him.

maybe i wont do the pen pal thing then.. the lady hasn't e-mailed me any info on anyone yet anyway.. but i am doing the valentine's thing

Yeah that was my moms first response but after seeing me spending quite a bit on a nice carepackage monthly she saw it adds up. My uncle signed my cousin up and hes young and married and she had no idea of care packages and all that so it was good for him to get them

I would totally do this......if I wasnt already feeding and supporting DH's entire group of friends and then some. He's the only one out of all of his friends that is married. I can think of...2? that have steady girlfriends. The other 8 don't really get anything, maybe a letter from their parents or a sibling. So I always send 2 care packages, 1 for DH and 1 for all his buddies. Chock full of candy, toys, cards, gag gifts, snacks, food, etc. I know they don't get much and when they get stuff they always tell DH to thank me profusely. So I know that everything I send is greatly appreciated and if anything were to ever happen to DH, they'd be the ones helping me out and making sure I'm okay. It's the least I can do
