Help Sailors who lost homes in fires

Two Sailors stationed in Seal Beach lost their homes in the recent wildfires.

Below is an email that has been sent out to try to get Volunteers/Support for the fundraiser the Chiefs Mess have planned for this weekend:

Shipmates, Volunteers are needed 22 Nov.2008 for fund riser car wash at the Chevron Station at Seal Beach Blvd.& Westminster Ave. Time 0700 and until cars stop coming in.We are conducting this fund riser for EO1 Bendell and OS3 Cervantes. During the recent wildfires EO1 Bendell lost 50% to 60% of his home and OS3 Cervantes apartment was all but burn to the ground.If you can find it in your heart to help out our shipmates please reply to this e-mail.We will need the follow supplies. 01) Soap/Car wash 02) Windex 03) Paper Towels 04) Towels 05) Amor-All 06) Rags 07) Water hose 08) Buckets 09) Sponges 10) Squeezies And donations are always welcome, upcoming Volunteer Jam No.2 fund riser Lytle Creek range FUN SHOOT 29 Nov.2008 stand by for more information on this event.

That's terrible. I'm hoping they had some type of homeowner's/renter's insurance.

I do know that one of them had renters insurance.
