I have had a couple people ask how to make a blanket and where to donate;

Guidelines for Blankets of Belief

To Show Our Deployed Heroes Spending the Holidays in a War Zone… We Believe in You!
GOAL:
180,000 handmade blankets
[Note: Crocheters and knitters, please see VA Holiday Drive information at the bottom]
BLANKETS:
Quilt-type with Batting – Cottons and flannels are good
Fleece No-sew - Directions link below
Fleece Single-sided - Please back with another fleece or flannel
Fleece - "Personalized" with patriotic buttons, embroidery or appliqués
COLORS:
Red/white/blue/patriotic ONLY
SIZES:
45" to 55" wide X 65" to 75" long
SHIPPING:
1.
Roll your blanket up tightly, tie with a ribbon, tag with a note/card.
2.
Enclose a holiday note/card. Add "This blanket was made with love and belief in you by __________ from Soldiers' Angels."
3.
Note #2: enclose another note inside the box with your name/address/email on it so you can be notified of its arrival.
4.

Hey. I've got a bit of a special case. I'm an RA in a college building, and I've got 20 residents knitting scarves and hats for donation to soldiers overseas, but I can't find anyone to donate them to! Do you think this group would accept them or should I find someone else? If anyone knows anything, please reply.

Yes they would. Not sure for the Iraq guys but the most definately will for the VA and also for the guys in the hospitals. Please contact them.
